Run like the wind! Wind and comfort. Measure out a track that is 50 m long. Each of you runs, as fast as you can, while one of the others times you with the stop watch. Use a calculator to calculate your speed in meters per second. Like this: Divide 50 m by your running time in seconds - that gives you your speed in meters per second. Measure the wind speed with an anemometer in m/s Could you outrun the wind? Measure the air temperature. How cold is it? When it is windy, it can feel much colder than the thermometer shows. Use a wind chill chart and find out, how cold it feels today. Humidity is also important to how we feel – measure the airs humidity with the hygrometer. Is it dry or damp? It is most comfortable between 30 and 70 %.
